LumaGlow support
Setup troubleshooting.
Use the section that matches what you see. These recovery steps follow the current Edge and Scroll firmware; they do not require an account or expose your Wi-Fi password to Illumin3D.
The display does not show the expected setup message
Edge normally shows Scan QR / Code. Scroll normally shows CONNECT TO WIFI. Confirm the power cable is fully seated and give the display a moment to start.
If the display is already showing a normal mode, it may already have saved Wi-Fi. Use the device’s existing Wi-Fi reset procedure before expecting setup mode. Do not unplug it during a save or connection handoff.
The LumaGlow setup Wi-Fi is missing
Look for Illumin3D LumaGlow-XXXXXX on Edge or the exact name Illumin3D LumaGlow on Scroll. The setup network is open and does not have a password.
Stand close to the display, turn the phone’s Wi-Fi off and back on, and refresh the network list. If a prior connection attempt failed, allow the firmware time to reopen setup Wi-Fi automatically.
The setup panel did not open
Keep the phone connected to the LumaGlow setup network even if the phone says it has no internet. Open Safari or Chrome and type http://172.31.253.1/ exactly.
If the phone silently switched back to cellular or home Wi-Fi, reconnect to the LumaGlow network and try the address again. The local panel cannot open from a different network.
My home Wi-Fi does not appear in Scan WiFi
LumaGlow uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Move the display closer to the router, confirm the router has 2.4 GHz enabled, and tap Scan WiFi again.
For a hidden network, type the exact network name into WiFi Network. Network names and passwords are case-sensitive.
The setup Wi-Fi returned after I entered my password
That is the current firmware’s recovery behavior. It means LumaGlow could not finish joining the selected home network. Reopen the local setup panel and carefully re-enter the router password.
Use the password for the selected home Wi-Fi—not an Illumin3D password and not a phone PIN. Confirm uppercase letters, symbols, and spaces.
The setup network disappeared after “Connect now”
This is expected. LumaGlow closes its temporary setup access point before joining home Wi-Fi. Do not unplug it. Reconnect the phone to the same home network selected in the device panel.
Edge shows WIFI READY and its numeric IP when connected. Scroll shows WIFI CONNECTED. If connection fails, setup Wi-Fi should return automatically.
The copied .local control address does not open
First confirm the phone is connected to the same home Wi-Fi as LumaGlow. Paste the exact URL copied from the device panel; a custom Device Name changes the address.
For Edge, use the numeric IP shown beneath WIFI READY as the verified fallback—for example, http://192.168.1.25/. Scroll’s current success screen does not show a numeric IP, so keep and use the copied local URL.
Some guest Wi-Fi networks block devices from seeing each other. If possible, use the router’s normal private home network rather than a guest network.
The internet disconnected while I was following the guide
The setup guide prepares its core pages and instructions for offline use before you leave home Wi-Fi. Keep the guide tab open while connecting to LumaGlow.
If you closed it before the green Guide ready offline message appeared, reconnect to internet Wi-Fi and reopen the guided setup before trying again.
