LumaGlow for iPhone & iPad
App Privacy Policy
Your display. Your settings. Clear choices about your data.

What stays on your device
LumaGlow stores your saved displays, display settings, unfinished edits, sample settings and app appearance on your iPhone or iPad. Connection records can include a display identifier, home Wi-Fi network name, hostname, last local address, firmware version and connection or save timestamps. Pending setup records contain the display and network names, time zone and nonsecret setup-session information so an interrupted setup can be checked safely.
The app requires no account and includes no advertising, analytics or tracking. It does not automatically upload your display records, settings or usage history to Illumin3D.
Wi-Fi setup and your local network
With your permission, Apple’s accessory and Wi-Fi features connect your iPhone or iPad to the Scroll you select. During setup, the app sends your home network name and password, display name and selected time zone directly to that Scroll. Setup codes and passwords are used during setup; they are not stored in the app’s saved display or setup records and are not included in diagnostics. Scroll stores its own Wi-Fi credentials so it can reconnect.
Local Network permission lets the app discover Scroll and read its status and settings, save your selected display settings, and request device actions such as an update check over your local network. These requests go to your display. You can change this permission in iOS or iPadOS Settings. Without it, live setup or control may fail; sample displays remain available.
Scroll’s online connections are separate. Scroll itself contacts Illumin3D services for online content and software updates. These connections come from the display, independently of the app’s local control requests. Deleting the app does not disconnect Scroll from Wi-Fi or stop its online requests.
Optional location assistance
Only when you tap Use my location, the app asks for location access while in use and makes a one-time approximate-location request. It uses Apple’s Core Location and network-based geocoding service to suggest a supported Scroll time zone or a five-digit US weather ZIP in the Edge sample. The lookup is not entirely offline. The app does not request background location or require precise location.
Apple’s geocoder processes your location for the lookup. Coordinates and the returned placemark are temporary: the app does not save them, include them in diagnostics or send them to Illumin3D. Only the resulting time-zone or ZIP field is offered for your review. The selected time zone is sent to Scroll when you connect; the Edge sample ZIP stays in its local settings.
You can decline permission, cancel the lookup or enter the field manually. Review the result before connecting or saving, and manage permission in system Settings. Apple’s handling of its services is described in Apple’s privacy information.
Public catalogs and logos
The app checks for updated public team and market lists at most once every 24 hours while the app is used, with the check time stored in its cache. It downloads lists and logos from https://illumin3d.com/lumaglow/app-catalog/v1/ and caches validated files on your device. Logos can download as you browse. If a request fails, cached or bundled choices remain available. iOS or iPadOS can remove cache files; clearing the cache can cause a fresh catalog check.
These are anonymous public-file requests: the app adds no user, account, installation or display identifier. It sends no Wi-Fi details, location, watchlist, saved settings or selected-team list, and uses no cookies or authorization.
Cloudflare serves these files and receives the source IP address and public resource path needed to serve each request, along with ordinary web transport information. A requested logo path can identify that public logo. This is separate from sending your settings or a usage report; the app contains no catalog analytics or tracking.
Diagnostics and support you choose to share
In Help, Contact Illumin3D lets you write a message and provide a reply email address, with an optional name. Include diagnostics is optional; choose See what’s included to preview the diagnostic block before sending. Nothing is sent until you tap Send. There is no automatic or background diagnostic upload.
Your message, reply email, optional name and any diagnostics you include are sent over HTTPS to Illumin3D at illumin3d.com, hosted on Cloudflare. They are stored in Illumin3D’s support inbox and emailed to Illumin3D so we can answer your request. Cloudflare receives ordinary connection information, including the source IP address, to handle the request; IP addresses are not part of the diagnostic block.
Diagnostics contain the app version, build number and build identifier (or “unrecorded”); iOS or iPadOS name and version; iPhone or iPad model; locale and time zone; Local Network and location permission states; up to 10 display records with their kind (Scroll or a Scroll/Edge sample), Scroll device ID if available, firmware version, last-seen time and last-result code; and up to 40 recent events with timestamps, short event codes and short details, newest last. Unavailable display values may be blank.
The diagnostic block never includes Wi-Fi passwords, setup codes, your home Wi-Fi network name (SSID), IP or LAN addresses, hostnames, location coordinates, display content (teams, stocks or text), or saved settings.
Share app diagnostics remains a secondary option in Help. It opens the iOS or iPadOS share sheet; you review the text and choose whether and where to share it. If you email support directly, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to include.
We keep submissions as support records under the Illumin3D general Privacy Policy. To request deletion, email [email protected]. Check messages and screenshots for personal information, and never send a Wi-Fi password or active setup code.
Retention, deletion and your choices
Saved settings and drafts remain on your device until you change or remove them, or delete the app and its data. You can edit settings, discard drafts, remove saved displays and revoke system permissions. Delete App removes the app’s local records, drafts, appearance settings and caches from that device; offloading an app keeps its documents and data. Device backups may retain app data according to your Apple backup settings.
Removing a display or deleting the app does not reset Scroll. To clear Scroll’s saved Wi-Fi and begin setup with a new code, hold its rear button for 10 seconds. This is a Wi-Fi reset, not a promise to erase all display settings. Review or clear personal display content before giving a display to someone else, and contact support if you need help.
There is no LumaGlow app account to delete. To request deletion of information you sent to support, email [email protected]. Legal or transaction-record retention requirements may apply, as described in our general policy.
Children’s privacy
LumaGlow is a companion for configuring a physical display and is not directed to children under 13. The app has no accounts, advertising, analytics or tracking. If you believe a child has sent personal information to Illumin3D through support, contact us so we can address the request and arrange deletion where applicable.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the app’s data practices change and show the effective date at the top of this page. This policy covers the LumaGlow iPhone and iPad app. Website shopping, orders and support communications are described in the Illumin3D general Privacy Policy.
