App Support

A little help getting your glow connected.

Updated · Illumin3D

Set up your Scroll

You need a compatible LumaGlow Scroll running firmware that supports app setup, and an iPhone or iPad. Hardware is sold separately. Scroll uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Networks that require a web sign-in page, such as many hotel, school or workplace networks, are not supported.

  1. Plug in Scroll and look for the four-character setup code on the right side of its display.
  2. Choose Set up your Scroll on the app’s welcome screen, or open the display list and choose Add a Scroll.
  3. Select your Scroll, enter its current code and follow Apple’s connection prompts. Allow Local Network access when asked.
  4. Choose your home Wi-Fi and enter its password. Under Name and time zone, review your display name and time zone, then choose Connect Scroll.
  5. Keep Scroll plugged in and the app open while it confirms the same display on your home Wi-Fi. Choose Start customizing when setup completes.

Connection and password recovery

Scroll is offline or cannot be found

Check power, then put your iPhone or iPad on the same home network as Scroll. In system Settings, allow LumaGlow’s Local Network access. Guest Wi-Fi and router client isolation can block devices from reaching one another. After restoring the connection, pull down on the editor or tap Try again.

The Wi-Fi password was wrong

Recovery can take about two minutes. Keep Scroll powered and follow the app’s recovery instructions. If Scroll shows a new code, check the Wi-Fi password and choose Check password and try again, then enter that new code. If a reply was lost, let the app check the connection before resending credentials. If you need to restart setup, hold the rear button for 10 seconds; this clears saved Wi-Fi.

You changed routers or moved Scroll

Open the display’s Settings in the app and choose Change Wi-Fi network. Unsaved display edits stay in the app. If Scroll cannot be reached, use the rear-button Wi-Fi reset and add it again with its new setup code.

The app says Scroll software is unsupported

Contact Illumin3D with your display model and software version. A compatible Scroll firmware version is required for live app setup and control.

Save and recover edits

Choose a mode, make your changes and tap Save. The app reads Scroll’s settings back to confirm the result. If the reply is uncertain, use Retry verification to check what Scroll accepted. Keep your draft until verification completes.

If settings changed elsewhere, Review helps you compare and choose values. Each display keeps its own unfinished edits. Removing a display only removes its app records; it does not reset the hardware or clear its saved Wi-Fi. Deleting the app removes local drafts and display records, so it is not a first recovery step.

Frequently asked questions

Can I try the app without hardware?

Yes. Choose Try sample displays on the welcome screen. Tap the display name at the top to switch between the labeled Scroll and Edge samples. Sample saves are simulated and do not control hardware. The app does not show a live reproduction of the LEDs.

Can I connect an Edge?

Edge is available as a sample in this version. Edge hardware setup and control are not available. Live setup and control require a compatible Scroll.

Do I need location permission?

No. Use my location can suggest a supported Scroll time zone during setup, or a five-digit US weather ZIP in the Edge sample. It uses Apple’s location and online geocoding services; your location coordinates are not sent to Illumin3D. Review the suggestion before connecting or saving. You can enter the field manually if you decline access, a lookup fails or your time zone is unsupported.

Do catalog downloads provide live scores or prices?

No. Downloads refresh public team and market choices and logos. The app can use validated cached or bundled choices if a request fails. Scroll retrieves its own online content. Samples demonstrate controls; they do not display live scores or prices.

How do I change the app’s appearance?

Use the appearance button on the welcome screen or the Dark–Light slider in Settings. This changes the app’s appearance, separately from the display’s brightness. The app follows your system text-size settings.

How do I delete my data or reset Wi-Fi?

Delete the app and its data to remove its local records and drafts. Removing the app or a saved display does not reset Scroll. Hold Scroll’s rear button for 10 seconds to clear its saved Wi-Fi and get a new code; this is not a full erasure of display settings. See the app’s retention and deletion instructions, including backups and support messages.

Contact Illumin3D

In the app’s Help screen, choose Contact Illumin3D, write what happened and provide an email address for our reply. Your name is optional. You can turn on Include diagnostics and choose See what’s included to preview them. Diagnostics are optional. Your request is sent only when you tap Send; there are no automatic or background diagnostic uploads.

The request goes over HTTPS to Illumin3D at illumin3d.com, hosted on Cloudflare. Your message, reply email, optional name and any included diagnostics are stored in Illumin3D’s support inbox and emailed to Illumin3D to answer your request. Keep the support reference shown after sending.

Diagnostics contain app version, build number and build identifier (or “unrecorded”); iOS or iPadOS name and version; iPhone or iPad model; locale and time zone; Local Network and location permission states; up to 10 display records with kind (Scroll or a Scroll/Edge sample), Scroll device ID if available, firmware version, last-seen time and last-result code; and up to 40 recent events with timestamps, short event codes and short details, newest last. Unavailable display values may be blank.

The diagnostic block never includes Wi-Fi passwords, setup codes, your home Wi-Fi network name (SSID), IP or LAN addresses, hostnames, location coordinates, display content (teams, stocks or text), or saved settings.

You can also email [email protected], including if the in-app request cannot be sent. Describe what you were doing and the exact message you saw. Share app diagnostics remains a secondary option in Help: it opens the system share sheet, where you choose whether and where to share the text.

We keep requests as support records under the general Privacy Policy. Email [email protected] to request deletion. Check messages and screenshots for personal details. Do not send passwords or setup codes. Read the LumaGlow app Privacy Policy for more about diagnostics, local storage and your choices.
